Roots in the Sky
With performances described as “the best choral singing we’ve ever heard in Bozeman (or almost anywhere),” Roots in the Sky has established itself as Montana’s premier chamber choir through a commitment to presenting thoughtfully curated performances of choral works – especially compositions by living composers and historically marginalized voices – that respond to the complexities of life in the 21st century and the world in which we are living. An amateur-turned-professional ensemble, the roster of Roots in the Sky includes professionals working in law, healthcare and wellness, education, business, engineering, and music. They are united by our art, community, and deep sense of place.

John Hermanson
John Hermanson is an award-winning songwriter and composer of the acclaimed acoustic duo Storyhill alongside Bozeman musician Chris Cunningham, as well as independent and commercial music spanning orchestral, world, pop, rock, and indie genres. Raised at Hope Lutheran Church in Bozeman, John has served Lutheran communities in Minnesota, Washington state, and Montana. His sacred music is in regular rotation at centers of Lutheran liturgy like Christikon Camp and Conference Center, and House of Mercy. Rooted in prophetic and mystical traditions, John's sacred songs raise ancient yet urgent questions about radical love and mutual responsibility, written in his compelling, distinctive folk style.

Baroque Music Montana
Baroque Music Montana specializes in chamber music inspired by history. They perform works by celebrated composers of the Baroque, as well as many pieces rarely or not heard since the eighteenth century often on period instruments. Based in Bozeman, BaMM provides a performance platform for local artists who love baroque music, visiting professionals who have deeply invested in historical performance, and students interested in the style. Made possible through a grant from The Juilliard School’s Alan D. Marks Center for Career Services and Entrepreneurship, the umbrella of Baroque Music Montana was founded in 2015 by Carrie Krause to provide a meaningful cultural institution of intimate, communicative, progressive performance for its vibrant mountain community.
